When Stepping Into Your Magic first launched, it was a podcast—an audio space for honest, heart-forward conversations on creativity, mindfulness, and self-discovery. But like any creative journey, the project began to evolve. The vision expanded beyond weekly interviews into something more immersive: a digital sanctuary for artists, seekers, and sensitive souls who are looking not just for inspiration, but for inner transformation.

This redesign marked the platform’s rebirth—as a mindfulness and meditation hub for creatives. And the new website needed to reflect that.

The Shift: From Conversations to Community & Practice

The original podcast format offered deep insight, but the new direction was more experiential. Stepping Into Your Magic now offers guided meditations, journaling prompts, digital courses, and an ever-growing library of tools to support creative self-inquiry.

The goal? To hold space for artists to reconnect with themselves, move through resistance, and access their most inspired work—not just through ideas, but through embodied practice.

I approached the redesign with this transformation in mind: the site had to feel like an invitation inward. Spacious. Soulful. A little mystical. And unmistakably creative.

Visual Language: Retro-Futuristic Magic

I landed on a visual identity that’s equal parts 1970s retro and sci-fi dreamscape—a blend of vintage record cover vibes and expansive, cosmic energy. It’s playful and grounded, nostalgic and visionary—just like the work it represents.

The color palette is warm and earthy with lots of rainbows thrown in and I leaned into texture, movement, and layering to create a sense of depth—like entering a portal.

Bringing the Vision to Life with Midjourney

To bring the surreal, otherworldly quality of the brand to life, I turned to Midjourney, using AI-generated art to explore and expand on the visual language. I treated Midjourney like a creative collaborator—feeding it prompts inspired by vintage sci-fi posters, spiritual symbolism, and dreamy color palettes.

What emerged were ethereal landscapes and cosmic dreamscapes that feel like inner worlds brought to life.

These images became a central part of the site’s atmosphere—appearing in banners, background textures, and across course pages. They help set the tone for the inward journey visitors are invited to take. The result is a visual experience that feels simultaneously retro and futuristic, grounded and galactic.

Features & Functionality

I restructured the site to support its new role as a resource hub. Key features include:

A meditation library for subscribers, with an easy-to-navigate archive and previews for non-members
A blog to keep free content flowing and deepen the sense of community
A course landing page to showcase offerings like Meditate Like An Artist
Clear CTAs to guide users into the work, whether through a free meditation or premium membership

It was important to me that the site feel both magical and practical—equal parts dreamy and user-friendly.

Extending the Brand on Instagram: Dreamy Visuals & Soulful Design

I carried the brand’s visual identity over to the Stepping Into Your Magic Instagram feed, creating a cohesive experience across platforms. The account mirrors the retro-sci-fi design language with dreamy textures, soft gradients, and bold type, while offering bite-sized inspiration and educational content. Carousel posts dive into topics like mindfulness, creativity, and resistance. Quote graphics act as visual mantras. And reels bring the brand to life with short meditation practices, gentle pep talks, and voice-led reflections. It’s designed to feel like a calm, inspiring corner of the internet—a place where followers can reconnect to themselves with just a few seconds of presence.
